Is there anyone who should avoid Reiki?
No, It's a gentle therapy that's safe for anyone; including babies, seniors, and even pets .
How Does Reiki Work?
Reiki gently encourages the client's chakra system to restore balance. Reiki helps shift your body's stress response from its "fight-or-flight" state to a more restful state during & immediately after the session, which is better for your well being & your health in the long run. Being in fight-or-flight mode triggers the release of stress hormones & other physiological changes that can be damaging off experienced constantly. Then, once your body is less stressed.
How Does Distance Reiki Work?
Distance Reiki is really not an accurate term. I believe it would be more accurate to call it Connection Reiki. When a practitioner “sends distance Reiki” what they are actually doing is tapping into their connection with a person or situation despite the physical distance and/or linear time. Reiki distance healing represents the ability to transfer the universal life force energy in time and space.You can do so for another person and even past or future events. Like with all Reiki techniques, its role is to place the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies into a state of healing & balance.
What are Chakras?
Chakras are the energy centers of the body. They are located in the energetic body, along the spine, starting at its base and running upwards to the crown of the head. The energetic body is the energy residing inside our physical body. Each physical body part has a corresponding energetic body part. The chakras radiate a specific color & energy, and each one coincides with a gland/organ in the physical body. Since each chakra relates to specific spiritual, emotional, psychological, & physical aspects of our being, it is believed that their blockage or malfunction can lead to physical, psychological, & emotional disorders. The conscious awareness & balancing of these energy centers , on the other hand, is believed to lead to well-being and good health.
How often should I get a treatment?
There are times when one Reiki session is enough to resolve whatever the issue is and sometimesit takes several sessions. I recommend trying out at least four sessions to give a true evaluation of the benefits received. Sessions can be spaced out & scheduled according to your needs & schedule.
Do I need to do anything after my session?
*Integrate-Many of the benefits of Reiki can occur soon after the session ends. As such it's important to find somewhere quiet& relaxing to "bring up" any emotions that arise. ( Even if it's just in your car ) I recommend that my clients take at least 15-20 min afterward to meditate, lie down, go for a walk in nature, or even take a nap. Try not to book anything immediately after your session.( also make a note of anything that comes up during this time.. to reflect back on when you have time )
*Eat & Hydrate- It's IMPORTANT to hydrate after doing any type of energy work. Be sure to drink 1-2 bottles of water ( equivalent) after your session. Our bodies are mostly water and a powerful conductor of energy - it gets the energy MOVING !! It also helps to flush toxins out of our bodies. If there's one thing I've learned in my own self healing journey, I needed to DRINK MORE WATER! Be mindful to eat healthy. Fresh fruits and vegetables and less processed foods.
There is no right or wrong reaction to a Reiki session, most clients enjoy the feeling of relaxation. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY and rest if needed. It is common to feel one thing the first day & something very different the next. Your energetic system is working the heavy energy out and shifting, a period of "lightness" should begin.
*Taking a "Detox-Bath" ( 1 cup bath salts /1 cup baking soda) in the hottest bath you can stand for twenty minutes. This will help eliminate the heavy energy from your system.
*It's important to note that one may experience a "Healing Crisis" symptoms may become worse before getting better as the Reiki will bring unprocessed emotions and pain to the surface to be released. The only way to resolve this is to ALLOW it ( unresolved emotions) to come into your awareness, acknowledge the pain and ways in which you have been affected by it. Then resolve to move forward with self healing practices in your daily life. For the most part, listen to yourself. Start anything that feels emotionally or physically supportive to you. Practice self care activities; get a massage, practice mindfulness and meditation, join a yoga class, paint, spend more time in nature, go to a museum. Educate yourself by reading books that promote self awareness and healing. Follow Blogs, social media, or podcasts that will support your healing. Trust your intuition and give yourself permission to do for yourself without guilt.
